How to use the plugins¶
You can try the plugins immediately by referencing them in your IMML file. You will need to be able to access the Metaforik service that they're indexed on and have access to the Amazon S3 web server hosting them. Please do not redistribute the actual files without a license to do so. Most plugins are publicly available and so you test them just by having web access. Feel free to contact us via the forums or create an issue with any problems. If you have ideas or an example of how you have used a specific plugin please comment in that plugin's page.
Licensing plugins¶
All plugins are created by the VastPark team unless stated otherwise. These plugins are available in the Enterprise SDK and most are free for non-commercial/non-gov use of the VastPark Player by indie developers.
GPL:¶
Plugins by VastPark marked GPL have a triple license. Anyone can use it under the terms of the GPL, as Freeware with the VastPark Player or deploy it commercially without restriction under the Enterprise SDK license. How you use these plugins depends on what suits your organization.
MIT:¶
Plugins by VastPark marked "MIT" are provided under the MIT license that allows anyone to use the code for any reason. We relax this license even further by stating in writing here that you do not need to include the MIT license in any work derived from a plugin's source code that we release under the MIT license.
Using our plugins as freeware:¶
All the current plugins by VastPark's team are free for referencing within your worlds and applications in their current form for all personal, indie and SME organizational uses, but need to be licensed if you want to redistribute the assets to your users yourself (such as when using behind a firewall), for any Enterprise purposes and for any unusually high volume usage. This "Freeware" approach comes with NO redistribution rights (therefore you must reference the current items so that the end users will download the plugins from our file servers - Amazon S3). All plugins remain copyright of their authors and assignees.
If this Freeware approach doesn't suit you, you can license the Enterprise SDK or request a quote on a VastPark Enterprise solution from VastPark or a development partner.
